It's that time of year again for me to mention my favorite charity, Child's Play.  This organization was started by a couple of video gamers a few years back to provide games and toys to hospitals that have kids staying with them.  These children are often times dealing with conditions that keep them in the hospital for long stretches and anything that entertains them is a Good Thing.

Child's Play has proven itself as a serious force in the charitable community, having raised over $1 Million last year despite being started by two lazy gamers.

The cost of a contribution is very low and the proceeds go to the hospital of your choice.  You are simply asked to buy a toy on Amazon and have it sent directly to a hospital. That's it!  I've seen toys as low as $2.50 on there.  That $2.50 could possibly entertain a sick kid indefinitely.

If buying toys for kids is not your thing, then as an alternative I'd like to suggest the American Cancer Society in honor of my father's passing just over a year ago of cancer.

Last, but certainly not least, my employer has a foundation called the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation which supports worldwide efforts to end cancer and support women all over.
